Community Guidelines

Last Updated: July 2026

1. Welcome to the Fyndit Community
Welcome to Fyndit.
Fyndit is more than a map—it is a community built by people who care about animals, responsible pet ownership and helping one another. Every report, photograph, comment and interaction has the potential to make a meaningful difference, whether it helps reunite a lost pet with its family, alerts others to a nearby hazard or introduces someone to a pet-friendly place.
These Community Guidelines explain the standards of behaviour expected from everyone who uses the Fyndit platform.
They exist to create an environment that is welcoming, trustworthy, respectful and safe for every member of our community.
While our Terms of Service establish the legal agreement between you and PawSignal Tech, these Community Guidelines explain how we expect members to interact with one another on a day-to-day basis.
By participating in the Fyndit community, you agree to follow these Guidelines whenever you use the Service.

2. Our Mission
Our mission is simple:
To build the world's most trusted community for pet owners and animal lovers.
Every feature within Fyndit has been designed with this goal in mind.
Whether you are reporting a missing pet, helping someone locate a stray animal, recommending a pet-friendly café or sharing information that could improve animal welfare, your contribution helps strengthen the community for everyone.
We believe that trust is earned through honesty, kindness, accuracy and respect.
Every member plays a role in protecting these values.

3. Our Community Values
Everything we do is guided by five core principles.
Be Helpful
Share information that genuinely benefits other members of the community.
Be Honest
Only publish information that you believe to be accurate.
Do not create false reports, exaggerate situations or intentionally mislead other users.
Be Respectful
Treat every member with courtesy, even when opinions differ.
Healthy discussion is encouraged.
Personal attacks are not.
Protect Animals
Animal welfare comes before engagement, popularity or personal recognition.
Always act in ways that promote the safety and wellbeing of animals.
Build Trust
The Guardian Network exists because trust is the foundation of the Fyndit community.
Every positive contribution helps strengthen that trust.
Every dishonest action weakens it.

4. Be Respectful
Respect is expected in every interaction.
You should always communicate with other users politely and constructively, even during disagreements.
We encourage thoughtful discussions, different perspectives and respectful debate.
However, behaviour intended to intimidate, insult, provoke or humiliate others has no place within the Fyndit community.
When interacting with other members:
• communicate respectfully;
• remain courteous during disagreements;
• avoid inflammatory language;
• respect cultural differences;
• support fellow community members;
• assume good intentions unless clear evidence suggests otherwise.
Small acts of kindness create stronger communities.
We encourage members to help each other whenever possible.

5. Report Honestly
Fyndit is built on trust.
Every report submitted through the platform has the potential to influence how members respond to situations involving animals, businesses, hazards and community locations. For that reason, accuracy and honesty are essential.
Before submitting a report, take a moment to ensure that the information you are sharing is true, accurate and based on your genuine knowledge or observations.
If you later discover that a report is incorrect or no longer relevant, please update it or remove it where possible.
You should never knowingly submit false, misleading or manipulated information.
Examples include:
• creating fake missing pet reports;
• falsely reporting an injured or stray animal;
• inventing hazards that do not exist;
• posting misleading locations;
• deliberately exaggerating incidents;
• using reports to harass individuals or businesses;
• attempting to create unnecessary panic within the community.
Mistakes can happen. Honest errors are very different from intentional deception.
If you accidentally publish incorrect information, correcting it promptly helps maintain the trust of the community.

6. Protect Animal Welfare
Animal welfare is at the heart of Fyndit.
Every action taken within the community should prioritise the safety, wellbeing and humane treatment of animals.
When sharing content involving animals, we encourage members to act responsibly, compassionately and with care.
You should never use Fyndit to promote, encourage or celebrate behaviour that causes unnecessary suffering to animals.
This includes, but is not limited to:
• animal abuse;
• neglect;
• abandonment;
• organised animal fighting;
• illegal breeding practices;
• intentional harm;
• wildlife trafficking;
• or any activity prohibited by applicable animal welfare legislation.
Where possible, reports concerning injured or distressed animals should contain sufficient information to help others respond appropriately without placing the animal at greater risk.
Remember that many community members may choose to assist based upon the information you provide.

7. Respect Privacy
Respecting privacy helps keep both people and animals safe.
Before publishing information through Fyndit, consider whether the information is necessary for the purpose of helping the community.
Avoid sharing personal information that is unrelated to your report or that could unnecessarily expose another person's privacy.
Examples of information that should generally not be published include:
• government-issued identification documents;
• banking or financial information;
• private telephone numbers without permission;
• personal email addresses;
• confidential medical information;
• precise home addresses where unnecessary;
• or other sensitive personal information.
If your report involves another individual, always consider whether the information you are sharing is appropriate, lawful and respectful.
Publishing private information about another person without a legitimate reason may violate both these Community Guidelines and applicable law.

8. Keep the Community Safe
Fyndit is designed to help people—not to place them at risk.
Users should avoid posting information that could endanger themselves, other community members or animals.
Examples include:
• encouraging dangerous behaviour;
• providing instructions for unlawful activities;
• coordinating harmful acts;
• sharing information that facilitates theft or trespassing;
• encouraging vigilantism;
• revealing sensitive locations that could place animals at risk.
Where appropriate, think carefully before publishing the exact location of vulnerable animals, shelters or rescue operations.
In some situations, reducing location precision may better protect animal welfare.
Community safety should always take priority over curiosity or publicity.

9. Harassment, Hate and Bullying
Everyone deserves to feel welcome within the Fyndit community.
Harassment, intimidation and abusive behaviour undermine the trust upon which the platform is built and are not permitted.
Examples of prohibited behaviour include:
• personal attacks;
• repeated unwanted contact;
• threats;
• intimidation;
• bullying;
• stalking;
• abusive language;
• degrading remarks;
• encouraging others to target an individual;
• or attempting to humiliate another member.
Likewise, Fyndit does not permit hate speech or discriminatory conduct directed at individuals or groups based on characteristics protected under applicable law.
We encourage respectful discussion and disagreement, but disagreement must never become abuse.
Treat every member with the same respect that you would expect in return.

10. Spam, Fraud and Scams
Fyndit exists to connect communities—not to facilitate spam or deceptive practices.
Users must not use the platform to:
• distribute spam;
• send unsolicited commercial messages;
• conduct phishing attempts;
• impersonate legitimate organisations;
• promote fraudulent investment opportunities;
• collect personal information through deception;
• manipulate users into providing money or sensitive information;
• or engage in any other form of fraud.
Repeated promotional content that contributes little value to the community may also be treated as spam.
Businesses are welcome where appropriate platform features exist, but commercial activity must remain honest, transparent and respectful of the community.
Protecting users from scams is a shared responsibility.
If something appears suspicious, please report it.

11. Authentic Accounts
Trust begins with authenticity.
Every Fyndit account should represent a genuine individual, organisation or business using the platform honestly and responsibly.
You may not create accounts that intentionally mislead other users regarding your identity, affiliation or authority.
Examples of prohibited behaviour include:
• impersonating another person;
• pretending to represent a business or organisation without authorisation;
• creating fake community profiles;
• using stolen identities;
• operating multiple accounts to manipulate community discussions or Guardian Network reputation;
• creating accounts solely to evade enforcement actions.
Pseudonyms and usernames are permitted where they are not deceptive or intended to impersonate another individual or organisation.
Keeping the community authentic helps everyone trust the information shared across the platform.

12. Responsible Messaging
Direct Messages are intended to help community members communicate safely and constructively.
Use private messaging respectfully and only for legitimate purposes related to the community.
When communicating with another member:
• be courteous;
• respect boundaries;
• avoid sending repeated unwanted messages;
• never pressure another user into sharing personal information;
• report inappropriate behaviour rather than responding with further abuse.
The messaging system must never be used to:
• harass or intimidate another person;
• distribute spam;
• conduct scams or phishing attempts;
• send malicious software;
• promote illegal activities;
• share explicit or unlawful content;
• solicit money through deception;
• or repeatedly contact users after they have asked you to stop.
Every user has the right to feel safe when communicating through Fyndit.

13. Businesses and Promotions
Fyndit welcomes responsible participation from businesses that genuinely contribute to the pet community.
Pet shops, veterinary clinics, groomers, trainers, boarding facilities, shelters and other pet-related organisations are encouraged to share accurate information about their services where appropriate.
However, promotional activity should always remain honest, relevant and respectful.
Businesses and users must not:
• create misleading advertisements;
• post fake reviews;
• manipulate ratings;
• impersonate competitors;
• repeatedly post duplicate promotional content;
• artificially inflate visibility through spam;
• or misrepresent products or services.
Recommendations shared by community members should reflect genuine experiences rather than undisclosed commercial arrangements.
Maintaining transparency helps preserve trust throughout the community.

14. Illegal and Harmful Content
Fyndit may not be used to publish, promote or facilitate unlawful activity.
Content that violates applicable law or presents a significant risk to the safety of users, animals or the wider community is prohibited.
Examples include, but are not limited to:
• criminal activity;
• violence or threats of violence;
• terrorism or extremist content;
• exploitation of animals or people;
• illegal wildlife trade;
• trafficking;
• identity theft;
• fraud;
• distribution of malicious software;
• unlawful surveillance;
• or content intended to facilitate criminal conduct.
Where PawSignal Tech becomes aware of content that presents an immediate risk to safety or appears to violate applicable law, appropriate action may be taken in accordance with our Terms of Service and Content Moderation Policy.

15. Graphic and Sensitive Content
Some reports shared within Fyndit may involve injured animals, accidents or other distressing situations.
Where such content serves a legitimate community purpose, users should exercise good judgement before publishing graphic imagery.
Whenever possible:
• avoid unnecessarily graphic photographs;
• provide clear written descriptions instead of disturbing images where appropriate;
• respect the dignity of injured animals;
• avoid sensationalism;
• and consider whether the same objective can be achieved using less distressing content.
Content uploaded solely to shock, disturb or upset other users is not permitted.
Protecting the wellbeing of both animals and community members remains one of our highest priorities.

16. Guardian Network Integrity
The Guardian Network exists to recognise members who make meaningful, positive contributions to the community.
Its value depends upon honesty and fairness.
Users must not attempt to manipulate trust scores, badges, achievements or reputation indicators through dishonest means.
Examples include:
• creating multiple accounts to increase reputation;
• coordinating artificial engagement;
• exchanging reputation for payment;
• submitting false reports to gain recognition;
• abusing reporting systems;
• or exploiting technical vulnerabilities to obtain Guardian Network rewards.
Positive participation should always be earned through genuine contributions to the community.
Where manipulation is detected, PawSignal Tech may adjust reputation scores, remove achievements or take other appropriate enforcement action.

17. Reporting Violations
Every member plays a role in keeping the community safe.
If you encounter content or behaviour that appears to violate these Community Guidelines, we encourage you to report it using the tools provided within the Service.
Reports should always be submitted honestly and in good faith.
Please include sufficient information to help us understand the issue.
Knowingly submitting false or malicious reports in an attempt to silence another user, damage a person's reputation or manipulate moderation decisions is itself a violation of these Guidelines.
Our moderation team reviews reports as fairly and consistently as reasonably possible.
Not every report will necessarily result in enforcement action, but every legitimate report helps us improve the safety and integrity of the platform.

18. What Happens When Rules Are Broken
Our goal is always to educate before we enforce.
Most members use Fyndit responsibly, and we recognise that genuine mistakes can happen. Whenever appropriate, PawSignal Tech will seek to encourage positive behaviour through guidance, education and fair moderation.
However, repeated, serious or intentional violations of these Community Guidelines may require enforcement action to protect the community.
Depending on the nature, severity and frequency of a violation, PawSignal Tech may take one or more of the following actions:
• provide educational guidance;
• issue a warning;
• remove or restrict specific content;
• temporarily limit access to certain features;
• temporarily suspend an Account;
• reduce or remove Guardian Network reputation;
• permanently terminate an Account;
• or take any other action reasonably necessary to protect users, animals or the integrity of the Service.
Not every violation will receive a warning before enforcement.
Where immediate action is necessary to protect user safety, prevent abuse, comply with legal obligations or preserve the security of the platform, PawSignal Tech may act without prior notice.
Enforcement decisions are made in accordance with our Terms of Service and Content Moderation Policy.

19. Appeals
We understand that moderation decisions can occasionally be made based on incomplete information.
If you believe that your content was removed or your Account was restricted in error, you may request a review through the appeal process made available by PawSignal Tech.
When submitting an appeal, please:
• explain why you believe the decision was incorrect;
• provide any relevant supporting information;
• remain respectful when communicating with our moderation team.
Submitting abusive, repetitive or intentionally misleading appeals may itself violate these Community Guidelines.
Each appeal is reviewed as fairly and objectively as reasonably possible using the information available at the time.
Where additional information changes the circumstances of a case, moderation decisions may be revised.

20. Help Us Build a Better Community
Fyndit exists because of its community.
Every report, every helpful comment, every missing pet reunited with its family and every act of kindness contributes to something much bigger than a mobile application.
We encourage every member to:
• welcome new users;
• share accurate information;
• support responsible pet ownership;
• celebrate positive contributions;
• report problems responsibly;
• respect different perspectives;
• and help make the community safer for both animals and people.
Small actions can have a meaningful impact.
Together, we can create a trusted platform where communities work together to protect animals, share knowledge and support one another.

23. Final Message
Every great community is built on trust.
These Community Guidelines are not intended simply as a list of rules—they represent the values that define Fyndit and the type of community we are building together.
By choosing honesty over misinformation, kindness over hostility, cooperation over conflict and compassion over indifference, every member helps create a safer environment for pets, their families and the wider community.
Thank you for being part of Fyndit and for helping us build a platform where every place has a story—and every member has the opportunity to make a positive difference.
