Copyright & Intellectual Property Policy

Last Updated: July 2026

1. Introduction
PawSignal Tech respects intellectual property rights and expects every member of the Fyndit community to do the same.
This Copyright & Intellectual Property Policy explains how intellectual property is treated within the Fyndit platform, what rights users retain over their own content, the rights granted to PawSignal Tech when content is shared through the Service, and the procedures used to report suspected infringement.
This Policy should be read together with our:
• Terms of Service;
• Privacy Policy;
• Community Guidelines; and
• Content Moderation Policy.
Nothing in this Policy limits any rights or obligations established under applicable intellectual property laws.

2. Our Intellectual Property
Unless otherwise stated, the Fyndit platform and all associated intellectual property are owned by PawSignal Tech or its licensors.
This includes, but is not limited to:
• the Fyndit application;
• the PawSignal brand;
• the Fyndit name, branding and visual identity;
• logos, icons and graphics;
• Atlas and related character designs;
• illustrations and animations;
• software code;
• user interface designs;
• databases and compilations created by PawSignal Tech;
• text created by PawSignal Tech;
• audiovisual materials;
• documentation;
• and all other proprietary materials made available through the Service.
These materials are protected by copyright, trademark, database rights, design rights and other applicable intellectual property laws.
No ownership of PawSignal Tech's intellectual property is transferred to users by using the Service.

3. User-Owned Content
We believe that creators should retain ownership of the content they create.
Subject to the licences described in this Policy and our Terms of Service, you retain ownership of intellectual property rights in content that you create and upload to Fyndit.
Examples include:
• photographs;
• written reports;
• comments;
• profile images;
• videos;
• event submissions;
• pet-friendly place contributions;
• and other original content created by you.
You are responsible for ensuring that you own, or have the necessary rights to use, any content that you upload or publish through the Service.
You must not upload content that infringes another person's intellectual property rights.

4. Licence Granted to PawSignal Tech
When you upload or submit content to Fyndit, you grant PawSignal Tech a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, transferable and sublicensable licence, for the duration of the applicable intellectual property rights, to use your content as reasonably necessary to operate, improve, promote and provide the Service.
This licence allows PawSignal Tech to:
• host your content;
• store and back up your content;
• display your content within the Service;
• reproduce your content where technically necessary;
• adapt formatting for different devices;
• distribute content within the platform;
• create technical copies;
• moderate content;
• and otherwise process your content in accordance with our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
This licence exists solely to enable us to operate and improve Fyndit.
Ownership of your original content remains with you.

5. Your Responsibilities
When publishing content through Fyndit, you represent and warrant that:
• you own the content or have sufficient legal rights to use it;
• publishing the content does not infringe another person's intellectual property rights;
• you have obtained any permissions reasonably required;
• the content complies with our Terms of Service and Community Guidelines;
• and the content may lawfully be shared through the Service.
If you are unsure whether you have permission to use particular content, you should not upload it until you have obtained the appropriate rights.

6. Copyright Infringement
PawSignal Tech takes allegations of copyright infringement seriously.
If you believe that content available through Fyndit infringes your copyright or another intellectual property right that you are authorised to protect, you may submit a notice requesting that we review the material.
A report should include, where reasonably possible:
• identification of the copyrighted work;
• identification of the allegedly infringing content;
• sufficient information to enable us to locate the material;
• your contact information;
• a statement explaining the basis of your claim;
• and any supporting documentation that assists our review.
Submitting knowingly false or misleading infringement claims may itself violate our Terms of Service and applicable law.

7. Our Review Process
When we receive a copyright or intellectual property complaint, PawSignal Tech will review the information provided in good faith.
Depending on the circumstances, we may:
• request additional information from the complainant;
• review the reported material;
• consider information provided by the user who uploaded the content;
• temporarily restrict access to the content while the matter is assessed;
• remove the content where appropriate;
• or take any other reasonable action necessary to comply with applicable law or protect intellectual property rights.
Each report is assessed individually.
Receiving a complaint does not automatically mean that infringement has occurred.

8. Counter-Notifications
If your content has been removed because of an intellectual property complaint and you believe the removal was made in error, you may submit a counter-notification.
Your counter-notification should include sufficient information explaining why you believe:
• you own the relevant rights;
• you have permission to use the material;
• the material does not infringe applicable intellectual property rights;
• or the removal resulted from a mistake or misidentification.
PawSignal Tech may review any additional information before deciding whether the content should remain removed or be restored.
Submission of a counter-notification does not guarantee reinstatement.

9. Repeat Infringers
PawSignal Tech respects the rights of creators and expects users to do the same.
Accounts that repeatedly infringe copyright or other intellectual property rights may become subject to progressively stronger enforcement measures.
Depending on the circumstances, this may include:
• educational guidance;
• formal warnings;
• removal of infringing content;
• temporary feature restrictions;
• temporary account suspension;
• permanent account termination;
• or other appropriate enforcement measures.
When determining whether a user is a repeat infringer, we may consider:
• the number of confirmed infringements;
• the seriousness of each incident;
• previous warnings;
• evidence of intentional misconduct;
• and the overall impact on rights holders and the community.

10. Trademarks
The names PawSignal, Fyndit, associated logos, brand elements, slogans, trade dress and other distinctive brand identifiers are valuable intellectual property belonging to PawSignal Tech or its licensors, unless otherwise stated.
Nothing in the Service grants users permission to:
• copy our trademarks;
• register confusingly similar names;
• create misleading branding;
• imply sponsorship or endorsement;
• or otherwise use our trademarks in a manner likely to cause confusion.
Any authorised use of PawSignal Tech trademarks must comply with applicable law and any written permission that may be granted by PawSignal Tech.

11. Atlas and AI-Generated Content
Atlas is an original character created for the Fyndit platform and forms part of PawSignal Tech's intellectual property portfolio.
Unless expressly stated otherwise, all rights relating to Atlas—including character design, visual appearance, artwork, animations, dialogue, branding and associated creative assets—are owned by PawSignal Tech or its licensors.
Users may not reproduce, distribute, modify, commercialise or create derivative works based on Atlas or related creative assets without prior written permission.
Content generated by Atlas or other artificial intelligence features within the Service may also be protected by copyright, contractual rights or other applicable intellectual property laws.
Authorised use of AI-generated content remains subject to these Policies and the Terms of Service.

12. Third-Party Intellectual Property
Fyndit may include references to third-party products, businesses, trademarks, logos or copyrighted materials.
Such references remain the property of their respective owners.
Nothing within the Service should be interpreted as granting users permission to use third-party intellectual property beyond what is permitted under applicable law or with the permission of the relevant rights holder.
Users remain responsible for ensuring that any third-party content they upload or share is used lawfully.

13. Open Source Software
Fyndit may incorporate open source software components that are distributed under their respective open source licences.
Where required by those licences, PawSignal Tech acknowledges the applicable copyright notices, licence terms and attribution requirements.
Nothing in this Policy overrides the rights or obligations established under the relevant open source licence.
Users must comply with the terms of any applicable third-party licences when using or interacting with such components.

14. Feedback and Suggestions
We welcome ideas that help improve Fyndit.
If you voluntarily provide feedback, suggestions, feature requests, comments or other recommendations regarding the Service, you acknowledge that PawSignal Tech may use those ideas without restriction or obligation to provide compensation.
This allows us to continue improving the platform for the benefit of the wider community.
Submitting feedback does not transfer ownership of your original intellectual property where applicable, but you grant PawSignal Tech a perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use, modify, implement and incorporate your suggestions into the Service.

15. User Licences and Permissions
Users may access and use the Fyndit platform solely in accordance with our Terms of Service.
Except where expressly permitted by applicable law or by written authorisation from PawSignal Tech, users may not:
• reproduce the Service;
• modify the software;
• distribute proprietary content;
• create derivative works;
• reverse engineer the application;
• remove copyright notices;
• attempt to extract source code;
• or exploit the Service for unauthorised commercial purposes.
Nothing in this Policy grants ownership of PawSignal Tech's intellectual property to users.

16. Protection of Intellectual Property
PawSignal Tech actively protects its intellectual property rights.
Where appropriate, we may take reasonable action to address unauthorised use of our intellectual property, including:
• requesting removal of infringing content;
• issuing cease and desist communications;
• reporting infringement to online platforms;
• pursuing available legal remedies;
• cooperating with marketplace operators;
• or taking other lawful steps to protect our rights.
Our decision to enforce intellectual property rights in one situation does not prevent us from taking different action in another situation based on the particular circumstances.

17. Fair Use and Lawful Exceptions
PawSignal Tech recognises that copyright laws in many jurisdictions include exceptions and limitations permitting certain uses of protected works.
Examples may include:
• criticism;
• commentary;
• news reporting;
• education;
• research;
• parody;
• quotation;
• or other uses permitted by applicable law.
When reviewing intellectual property complaints, we may consider whether the reported use falls within a recognised legal exception.
The existence and scope of such exceptions vary between jurisdictions.

18. International Intellectual Property Rights
Fyndit is accessible in multiple jurisdictions.
Intellectual property laws differ from country to country, and users are responsible for complying with the laws applicable to their use of the Service.
PawSignal Tech seeks to respect internationally recognised intellectual property principles while complying with the laws that apply to our operations.
Nothing in this Policy limits any legal rights or remedies that may exist under applicable national or international intellectual property laws.

19. Reporting Intellectual Property Concerns
If you believe that your copyright, trademark or other intellectual property rights have been infringed through the Fyndit platform, you may contact PawSignal Tech.
To assist our review, please provide as much relevant information as reasonably possible, including:
• your name and contact details;
• identification of the intellectual property concerned;
• identification of the material you believe infringes your rights;
• an explanation of your claim;
• supporting documentation where available;
• and any other information that may assist our assessment.
Providing complete and accurate information helps us investigate reports more efficiently.

20. Changes to this Policy
PawSignal Tech may update this Copyright & Intellectual Property Policy from time to time to reflect:
• changes to the Fyndit platform;
• new features or services;
• developments in intellectual property law;
• improvements to our internal procedures;
• evolving industry best practices;
• or operational and business requirements.
Where required by applicable law, we will provide appropriate notice of material changes through the Service or by other appropriate means.
The most current version of this Policy will always be available within the application and will display the updated "Last Updated" date.
Your continued use of the Service after an updated Policy becomes effective constitutes your acknowledgement of the revised version.

21. Relationship with Other Policies
This Copyright & Intellectual Property Policy forms part of the broader legal framework governing your use of Fyndit.
It should be read together with our:
• Terms of Service;
• Privacy Policy;
• Community Guidelines; and
• Content Moderation Policy.
Where this Policy addresses intellectual property matters in greater detail, it supplements the provisions contained within the Terms of Service.
If any inconsistency exists between this Policy and the Terms of Service regarding legal rights or obligations, the Terms of Service shall prevail to the extent permitted by applicable law.
